The owner of Crafts & Grapes, Anson Abdulla, will reopen the Berkeley bottle shop as a grocery store called People’s Local Market in July 2020 in an effort to provide the Southside neighborhood with healthy, local offerings. Abdulla envisions the market as an indoor version of the Berkeley farmers market, but open every day and with shelves stocked with locally produced broths, soups and snacks, and dairy from nearby farms.
